We collaborate - help us to help you

Citrus Arts are a Wales based company founded in 2009 by artists James and Bridie Doyle-Roberts. Our shared backgrounds in circus, street theatre, drama, dance, and education projects, have given us opportunities to work alongside, learn, and share expertise from some of Europe's leading practitioners in an exciting range of places and situations. We're a growing team who love what we do and hope that you can join us in some way, as we continue our journey

Contemporary Circus is the heart of our practise; we use our experience and creativity to apply the potential of this beautiful artform to the wider creative sector. Whether working with Fine Arts practitioners, Writers, Composers or schools and education leaders, our mission is to make high-quality shows that are relevant to participants, and appealing to audiences.

Our work as a company (and as freelancers under the company banner), has been seen in Welsh castles, inside the fuselage of a DC-9 aircraft, over and under urban landmark bridges across the UK, and in association with three of the UK’s National Theatres (London's Southbank, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru & National Theatre Wales). Our creative leadership has delivered great results on our long-term contracts with London Youth Circus and Newport's Big Splash festival.

"Anarchic wit, with a big heart" - Theatre Wales review

"The acclaimed Citrus Arts have a unique physical brand of circus theatre" - Buzz Magazine

"One of Wales' most exciting companies" - Wales Millennium Centre

We're renowned for our collaborative attitude when working with independent artists or larger organisations. Collaborations with Walk The Plank, National Centre for Circus Arts, Sinfonia Cymru, Marc Rees, and Wales Millennium Centre have delivered ambitious, creative projects both indoors and out in partnership with local authorities, theatre producers, heritage organisations, and festivals.

Citrus Arts would like to thank Arts Council Wales, Welsh Assembly Government, Arts Council England and The National Lottery for supporting our work.
